1. Make the berry compote
In a medium saucepan, combine berries, 2 teaspoons chia seeds, ¾ teaspoon brown sugar, lemon juice, and ¼ teaspoon each cinnamon and salt. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until the berries break down about 6 minutes. Let cool to room temp (about 5–8 minutes), then refrigerate until ready to use.
2. Mix the oat base
In a medium bowl, stir together milk, oats, yogurt, vanilla, the remaining 1 tablespoon chia seeds, and 1 tablespoon brown sugar. Cover and refrigerate for at least 8 hours (or overnight).
