Refreshing Drunken Strawberry Sorbet Recipe for a Perfect Summer Treat

A delightful boozy dessert with strawberries and wine to elevate your next gathering.

If you’re looking for a refreshing, boozy dessert, this Drunken Strawberry Sorbet is a fun and delicious option. With the sweet taste of strawberries, the zest of orange, and a splash of white wine, this dessert brings a light and sophisticated touch to any summer gathering. This no-cook sorbet is simple to prepare just blend, freeze, and enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 750 ml white wine (reserve 2/3 cup separately)

  • 4 large strawberries, hulled and halved

  • 6 orange segments

  • 1 tbsp honey (or substitute with maple syrup, sugar, or stevia to taste)

  • 1 tbsp whipped cream (for garnish)

  • 2 fresh mint leaves (for garnish)

Instructions

Step 1: Reserve Some Wine

Begin by opening the bottle of white wine and pouring 2/3 cup into a measuring cup. Set this reserved wine aside for the final step.

Step 2: Prep the Strawberries

Remove the tops of the strawberries, then cut them in half for easier blending.

Step 3: Blend Ingredients

In a blender, combine the remaining wine, strawberries, orange segments, and honey. Blend until the mixture is smooth and fully combined, creating a vibrant fruity base.

Step 4: Strain the Mixture

For a silky texture, pour the blended mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a shallow baking dish, pressing out as much juice as possible.

Step 5: Freeze and Blend Again

Place the baking dish in the freezer for at least 6 hours or overnight. The alcohol in the wine prevents it from freezing solid, resulting in a slushy consistency. Once frozen, blend the mixture again to achieve a fluffy, smooth texture.

Step 6: Garnish and Serve

Scoop the sorbet into glasses. Add a splash of the reserved wine over each serving to enhance the texture and bring out the wine’s character. Garnish with whipped cream, fresh strawberries, orange pieces, and a sprig of mint for a pop of color and freshness.

This Drunken Strawberry Sorbet is a refreshing and visually stunning treat, perfect for any occasion that calls for a cool and fruity dessert with a touch of sophistication.
